Humbled in the Presence of God – Prayer Nuggets – Pray for the Nation

Humbled in the Presence of God

As I began to write, the Lord made clear to me that the important thing for this Prayer Nugget is to let you read of my encounter with Him, and then meditate on it with the Scriptures for your own fresh personal revelation of and from Him. So I offer a prayer for you before you even read what comes. Dear Father, I ask You to use the special moments I had with You, together with the Living Word, and bring each one who reads them into a greater place of intimacy with You, the Creator of the universe, but also our Father. In Jesus’ powerful name I pray. Amen.

As I prayed about a seemingly unchanging situation, I asked the Lord to move in a big way now, explaining to Him that there must be a mighty move of His Spirit, or this thing was never going to change. Did you notice that I was explaining to God why He needed to do it the way I was telling Him to? How gently and lovingly did He respond to me, Spirit to spirit! He explained the situation to me with such simplicity and clarity that I understood why my way was not the best way. There was no sarcasm, no condescension, no “putting me in my place.” He simply explained His reason for not answering my prayer in the way and timing I had asked of Him, and helped me see how much better His way is. In those moments, I had a revelation in my spirit of something that I had only known previously in my mind. The God of the universe explained to me why He is doing what He is doing! That He even speaks to me is amazing enough! But He explained Himself to me, Kay Stocking. He didn’t tell me how much longer it would be, or what else would take place to get it “finished,” but neither did I have any further desire to know. I was so humbled in His presence, grasping in a deeper way than ever before how much He is God and how much I am not! At the same time, I was brought into such an awareness of His incredible love for me as a child, as His child! The fact that He answered me at all caused me to humble myself in adoration, praise, and worship of the King of kings and Lord of lords, the Creator God!

Ps. 8:4-9 (NIV) “4 What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? 5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. 6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet: 7all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, 8 the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!”

Ps. 144:3 (NIV ) “O LORD, what is man that you care for him, the son of man that you think of him?”

Rom 11:33-34 (AMP) 33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unfathomable (inscrutable, unsearchable) are His judgments (His decisions)! And how untraceable (mysterious, undiscoverable) are His ways (His methods, His paths)! 34 For who has known the mind of the Lord and who has understood His thoughts, or who has [ever] been His counselor?”

Ps. 89:6-8 (NIV) 6 For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings? 7 In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him. 8 O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you.“
